     Welcome!
This is an official website of a Restoration studio "Atelier de Montplaisir" .It's become virtually impossible to run any sort of business without some exposure to the internet. The main idea of the website is to  try to show to my potential clients and to  general public  some of my  successful  restoration projects   carried out  recently  or  some time ago and photographed  to be shown  as  examples of what I can do. I'm also interested to be in touch with people  who are professionally involved in activities similar to mine…

19.10.2011  Some Update here..

Running site like www.fragilecreations  requires a lot of attention. It was built with some software that is no longer up to date and is too complicated.Every page has to be created manually, and it's very time consuming process . Running a Blog like mine is much easier task.

Using some  other software that is supported by the blog-hosting infrastructure, I' m able to to process the material much quicker and easier than before. Thus, I go that way.But this site will live on, as a symbolic Representation of my little studio  " Atelier de Montplaisir"  .which is still alive and kicking .My  experiments and efforts in the field of web-publishing and photography  open some new perspectives  in ever changing WebWorld.
I love English language. My second one, which I still learn. But - The blog at the moment is maintained in Swedish. My clients are  mostly local Swedes and Danes(they read in Swedish without trouble too) -  and that makes a difference. There is no possibility to run it in two languages, the posts will be too long.

Recommendations: One can use online translators, that allow to get more or less clear hints about what is being shown or written. If  there is some iteres. Or just leave it . If I see any comments in English - will reply.of course!

So, Wellcome!
Click here to be transferred to some other Webplace..

Or  just go on reading this page, check this site out, it's  worth it , too.  These two things will be linked  in the future, anyway.

...  I may offer my help and services in evaluation and identification of porcelain and Ceramics of European /Russian origin. I have some knowledge about the subject and have some contacts with collectioners  in Russia...  I will restore, conserve, consult, buy and sell ..

Restoring antiques  is the kind of business you can never learn fully, for there are always repairs that you have not come across before, new materials coming on to the market, and new techniques  to try out ,which is what makes it so interesting. I have always looked upon restoring as a sort of cottage industry, and a good way of stepping out of the "rat race" .And it is sort of work that calls for fairly constant improvisation from the person involved into process..

It's getting harder and harder for the collector and dealer alike to buy antique pieces in perfect condition, so naturally the good pieces in perfect condition going up rapidly in price. Both these factors are making a well restored piece a more attractive proposition than it used to be.
Restoration of porcelain is regarded as one the most delicate and tough type of restoration by many ...I read some slogan somewhere:"If you can porcelain, you can fix almost everything" .To (re)create something that is missing in porcelain ...In form and color. Invisibility... In biscuit,  over glaze or under glaze....With materials that sometimes  can be in conflict with each other and difficult to handle but ...If used properly - give best  possible visual  results  and a guarantee  for  the long life of the finished  restoration(20-30 years or more ) . The restorations I carry out are mostly Reversible - to be dismantled within several hours most if need be .Here come materials that cannot be handled by amateurs somewhere in the corner of the kitchen..

Fume boxes, Filters...airbrushes, compressors, air tubes, gasmasks of different type, countless tools of different type, etc .You can't without this stuff. I don't mention the chemicals...You need place. And like that - you are about end up in the Workshop...In the center of small but noisy Swedish city of Malmo...The good thing about all this is: I'm the one and only chief at my place. And I like doing it. Restoring beautiful things.
